Doodles! Yay!
Yup. Many new to you doodles in my sketchbook.
Have a look.
Hey kids! Remember me?
I finally have a work space with space to work. I am also finally starting to feel like myself again, for the first time since I moved away from the Bay Area.
I'm still in school, and will need to start work-working again really soon, but I will try to sneak in a hastily drawn something now and again.
I started the next issue of Skullyflower about a year ago before the move and all of it's pesky emotional repercussions beat the will to create out of me, so maybe I'll start fleshing that out again soon.
Also, next semester, I'm taking a comics and sequential art class, so that should get my blood moving again. I'll probably be posting assignments and rebellious doodles.
I still have many class time doodles to scan. And I still plan to plug away at the 99 Doodles. I'll be trying to sell some too.
Is it bad form to dress as your own comic book character?
Yes, Skullyflower likes to remove the heads of the other cartoon characters in the room.
Hey Everybody!
Sorry to be gone for so long! Here's something very old:
I've been busy with school, packing, moving and setting up the new house for the last month or so.
The good news is that SkullyFlower has a new and improved space! My last art room was totally cramped and impossible to do much in, but this one is spacious and open and fun to be in.
The bad news is that I can't get my scanner set up until we get the polarity in the outlets fixed. I don't want to fry my equipment. When I do get it set up, I have lots of class doodles to scan in, so stay tooned.
I'm also chomping at the bit to get some more 99 doodles done, and -gasp- possibly some comics. I have not given up! I just let life get in the way, that and all the clutter in my old art room.
Be back soon!
Love,
Dragon
Hello!
It's been a long ass time, but here I am with tons of scribbly comics and doodles.
I should really do this one for real, but I didn't so here it is in the rough.
I've tried to get through college 5 different times, but every time something, usually money, got in the way. I'm giving it one more try. I'm risking the student loans this time because I am finally studying something practical that will become a job in the end: ACCOUNTING!! Can you feel the excitement. I'm embarrassed to admit that I am stoked to be learning this stuff.
In other news:
We are buying a house that looks like an old-timey cartoon character.
It's green with yellow trim.
AND -- I've been smoking a pipe for some reason.
And we've been listening to lots of old-ass country/mountain music and reading scary books so you get this Zombie Lady

I've got some Asphalt Standard sized X-Large and Large, a few Medium, and a small or 2.
I've got a ton of Asphalt GIRLY sized Large and Medium

Hey remember these? only 79 left to go! I might just finish these before I die of old age.
So, um, I just made my oldest friend a new body.

All those light spots on her face are where the stuffing is showing through. In the end her little eye would occasionally flip over in an extremely upsetting way. So, it finally came to me that I could make her a new body.
This isn't the first time she's been through this. When I was probably no older than 7 she was destroyed by the puppies and my mom spent a frantic day fixing up a new doll to look like the original. I noticed the difference, but figured my mom had just fixed something on her. The soul transfer happened easily.
This time my hubby helped me. After I got the new body ready, he fixed up a "scientific device" that consisted of some foil and a circuit tester. Now my old friend has a new body that I don't need to fear to squeeze.
She seems so much happier too. I never fully realized it before, but my little friend always looked like she was choking down tears. So sad. But now she just gets to be happy and pretty. I'm super pleased.

Sorry, it's
beatonna's fault.

It was either post it messy or not at all, so I opted for posting.

I've been busily working on my website
First off, I gave it a slight facelift and I think it's looking fine. Please let me know if something looks funky. I test as best I can, but my access to Windows is limited.
New in the Shop! Custom Items
I've been scrambling around trying to think of ways to bring in some cash. I like to make little things out of my artwork, but most of the stuff that I have made is pretty old now and not getting much action and I can never tell what people are going to like.
So, I have rigged my website up so that you can now order any image you like, from the drawings or paintings galleries on my website, as one of little things that I make.
I might expand it to big size prints and tee shirts at some point if this takes off.
I Build Artist Websites
I have worked as a web developer for a while now. I have a few handy tricks up my sleeve that I'd like to put to work for my fellow artists. I've worked out a simple but slightly fancy gallery system that does not require flash, can be easily updated. I also offer hosting.
Okay, that's about all I can stand of the self promotion. Can you tell that I hate it?
Man, what a time I'm having. But emotions make me draw lots of little despairing faces.

Pay attention kids, it gets like this sometimes. You will be trapped by circumstances beyond your control, make decisions that you grow to regret, or just plain have hard time coming to terms with.
There are just too many aspects of my life that are not what I want right now, and I waste too much of my time and energy staring at the wall trying to make it not so, with the oh-so-lame powers of my mind. It's not working.
I need to start redirecting my energy into a way more productive direction, as I am out of money. Like almost completely. I'm going to try and make SkullyFlower bring in some cash, building websites for other artists and selling my art stuffs that no one seems to want. I'll probably try and get a part time job at Starbucks too.
I'm in NY state now, but I don't get to go to MOCCA because I do not have any money and because I've been too busy staring at the walls hating things to draw much and because now I suddenly have a niece and said niece is graduating from high school that weekend and I am going to go watch it happen.
Hi there! It's been a long time, I know.
Yay! White ink. I got that stuff that they were talking about on Drawn! a few weeks (months?) ago. It's fun! And really good for drawing ghosties.
Sorry I've been quiet for so long. I had some paid work I needed to focus on and I don't have very good focus abilities, so I couldn't really split it well enough to get drawing in there too. Besides, Spring!
Anyway I just uploaded some rad doodles. Go check 'em out.
I'm a little older than most of you, but yes I was a teen at one time, and a weird one. Even the punk rockers thought I was weird.
Please pardon the scale issues in this drawing; I was having a hard time fitting all of me in and I got a little squished and have ape arms, but I didn't really when I was 18.
I was however Senior Class Vice President, an honor student, and got lots of awards and made a speech during graduation.

The sun is making it so hard to sit at my drawing table! But I do trudge on. You will not be rid of me that easily. Not like some of the other 99 doodles participants.
Anyway. HI! Bye!
I don't know why, but I love Medusa. It's probably from the 10 thousand times I watched Clash of the Titans when I was a kid.
I can't believe that I'm only on #16. Better get drawing.
I scanned in the alien painting.
I always wondered ...
What if so called space aliens aren't really just what humans evolve into by the time we master time travel.
Chew on that for a minute. Spit it out if you like.
MORE DOODLY FUN!

I can't decide whether I ruined this or augmented it by over doing the clear coat. That's what all that haziness is. I kinda like it.
Anyway, expect more white of black until I get tired of it.
Sorry for the slow down in posting, I've been fighting some terrible illness that's been going around.
Here is a quick tablet sketchy-doodle I just did:

More underwater stuff.
Only 88 to go! stay tuned.
